Production WEEK 1
Today, was finally our first shooting day of The Cell. Things could have started better since I woke up feeling dreadfully ill, but since we had been pushed back and pushed back, I felt even though canceling the shoot would be the easy thing to do, it would only push things back even further. So I decided that even if we only did half a day we would at least break ground and all meet our Actor, David. My biggest concern with canceling was that David would then not take the production seriously leading him to canceling.

We started by just going threw the script in order, to begin to get a feel of working within the set. Our first shot was a close up of David's eyes opening. It was my idea that instead of trying to set up the camera above David in bed, that we could cheat the shot by just having David stand in front of the bed, with it leaning against the wall(shown in the above picture to the right).
Next, we worked threw the rest of the shots pretty smoothly. I was really happy with the lighting Glenn was doing. Think it really gives a sense of depth to the image, and by using the reflectors it dulled the light and you can see buy the images that the set looked solid rather than showcasing its paint and the line papered walls.

Like I said earlier this was not a good day for me, as I wasn't well at all and was sick a few times throughout the day. So once we hit three O'clock and I wasn't getting much better I decided it best to call it a day on this shoot. The final thing we did on the day however, may have given us some of our best stuff. We set up a P2 in the corner of the cell attached to overhead lighting in the studio using the Magic Arm. This was to act as a security camera, and we left David in the Cell to get that sense of him being alone and becoming bored. We told David he would be in there for a total of 15 minutes, but I thought once we left him in there, to leave him in for an extra ten so 25 minutes in total, as he would only become bored once he felt he'd been in there longer than anticipated. Which once reviewing the footage I believe worked beautifully and some of the stuff we got was the best footage we had done all day.
Overall, I think this was an incredibly successful shoot as even though I was ill and we probably only got a total of 5 shots we met David and made a successful start on THE CELL. This shoot also set a nice tone hopefully for the rest of our upcoming shoots.
