Set Tests 1

It was very important to me that we had time to experiment with the walls, so that me and the crew got a feel for how it fits together and more importantly to see what ur set actually looked like on the Black Magic.

We soon realised when using the red heads that the direct light of these, really began to highlight the bumps and the ugliness of our craftsman ship. However they looked a lot better under the cool lights, rather than the red heads.

This problem was also solved by using scrim to just take the harshness out of the red heads, or by bouncing the light off reflectors.

So it was well worth us having these tests as it meant we now knew the best way to light our set. We also tried to do the majority of our lighting threw the window itself as this would give the desired effect I was after.

The tests were also beneficial for Jacob on sound as he could get a sense for where he could hide his microphone set up. Overall the tests were successful but it would have been good to have a little more time, so I feel we will defiantly have a mother test shoot before we go into production. I would like to try some more tests with an extra wall added instead of just the two we used here.
